Your Company and Team Vision

Is your team on the same page?  Many teams that perform at mediocre or even “good” results are often not performing at GREAT results because they aren’t moving in the same direction.

Without a unified vision, a group of good people may be focused on opposing ideas.

It should come as no surprise that a company with a consolidated vision produces powerful results. With this in mind, here are five steps to implement this powerful tool.

First, it’s possible that your company doesn’t have a clear vision in place. If this is the case, take initiative and create one yourself!  If t this seems like a daunting task, go back and read some of my previous emails for inspiration.

Once the vision is in place, it’s time to get the word out. As a leader, you must possess clarity and connection with your team. Be passionate about your vision and share that enthusiasm with your team.

Connection is made by raising awareness. There are many ways of doing this, from email campaigns and team meetings to printed collateral and messaging. One colleague handed out laminated business sized cards to her team with her vision’s bullet-points printed on them. Brilliant!

Be firm in your expectationsIt’s important that your team embrace company values and is eager to see them through.  Follow up and follow through will help empower your expectations.

Finally, with the new year just getting underway, it’s important to get the ball rolling immediately! Make the company vision your top priority. Once everyone is on the same page, your team will start producing awesome results.
